Offline Connections CHALLENGE WEEK: Talking to Strangers

  • Temperance Alley Garden 1931 13th Street Northwest Washington, District of Columbia, 20009 United States (map)

Talking to Strangers *CHALLENGE WEEK*

What if you stood next to your soulmate at the bus stop without knowing it? Every day we pass up dozens of opportunities to connect with the people all around us. Even if they don’t yield lasting connections, conversations with strangers are a portal to fascinating, funny, beautiful worlds. Yet in a world where everyone is increasingly sucked into the addicting and comfortable flatlands of their phones, striking up conversation has begun to feel risky, uncomfortable, and rare.

Fill your life with spontaneity and meaningful connection, by making friends and finding partners the “old fashioned way” (in three dimensions). It doesn’t have to be scary! Join this week of challenges, supported by a positive group of fellow brave people, to rediscover the art of talking to strangers. The shy, socially anxious, and awkward are especially encouraged to join and step out of your comfort zone.

At this event, we will talk about how phone culture has shifted the way we meet people, what we’re losing, and prepare for a week of practicing authentic connections! Then, we will send you into the week with a set of challenges designed to get you to look up, be present, be brave, and talk to strangers. They don’t bite!

This is an Attention Sphere event hosted by Kendall & Luca

Part 2 (where we party and celebrate your week of breaking open a new world) is on June 18th
