After a long winter of snowcrete, join us in reconnecting with the land through observational nature painting. We’ll welcome in spring and get reacquainted with our native ecology in the Temperance Alley Sanctuary. We’ll start with some light tending to be in reciprocity with the land then have a guided painting session where art making can help us create a deeper relationship with the land and our non-human plant and animal neighbors.
The Temperance Sanctuary is an extension of the Temperance Alley Garden – a place to quiet down, to observe, and to cultivate reciprocity between ourselves and the land. Come join us in the visioning and stewardship of Temperance Sanctuary: as a time capsule of Indigenous history and stewardship, native food/micro forest to bring back native biodiversity, and an ecological classroom to foster and practice our stewardship in community. If you’re interested in any of these topics, we welcome you to join us in its design and execution!
