What if a vacant lot could become a thriving native habitat for people and nature?
Join us for a Fall Natives planting party in Temperance Alley Sanctuary, a vacant lot next to the main garden that we’re working together to collectively rewild.
In this session, we’ll:
🌱 Get hands in the dirt planting DC native plants.
💧 Contribute to the design of rainwater harvesting to restore the plot’s relationship with water.
🎨 Help with educational sign design and draft chalk art to plan a ground mural that will connect the two plots.
🗺️ Share ideas and help shape the design of the Sanctuary.
🤝 Connect with neighbors and practice community-based ecological stewardship.
No prior gardening or ecology experience is needed. Come curious, bring your ideas, and help shape how this small piece of DC can support our ecological and climate resilience.
hosted by the Sanctuary Stewards (Elena, Joe, Eliyana, Juliette, Avery, Lydia, Chandan, Alexis, & Amy)
